We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic individuals for a Bicycle Mechanic and/or Sales Associate that can meet our standards of customer service and professionalism. We're currently looking for a 6 month commitment, from one or two individuals. The position is part-time seasonal (May - September) with the possibility of extending into a full-time, year round position. Days and hours may change according to seasonal needs. You must be able to work weekends.
Assist sales and service departments with technical inquiries in a friendly manner.
Write and process sales and service tickets, including data entry into the point of sale system. Ensure service paperwork is completed legibly, accurately, and filed accordingly.
Greet customers & answer telephone with standard greeting and be available on retail floor during all assigned hours.
Understand process for receiving stock; Organizing, Displaying and Processing.
Learn the industry and understand the products we offer on a technical level.
Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information.
Clean and maintain retail, workshop, and lounge areas.
Ensure that work is completed within specified time and quality parameters.
Assist with opening and closing.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Attributes:
Pure love for bicycles and giving back to your community.
Comprehensive understanding of bicycle function with the ability to assess for repair.
Detail & safety conscious, self-motivated, confident, dependable, and empathetic.
Ability to organize, delegate, and prioritize assignments.
Comfortable and confident using computer based Point of Sales, Office or Mac, Social Media, and Google Docs.
Must be able to climb stairs and lift up to 70 pounds.
English fluency, Spanish a plus.
Experience in bicycle mechanics and/or sales, prefer a minimum of 2 years.
Basic knowledge of electricity, motors and ebikes.
Ability to do bike assembly, flat repairs, bleed disc brakes and suspension fork overhauls using the proper tools while following all safety procedures.
Applicants should feel comfortable shifting gears between roles: Sales, Customer Service, Repair Technician, and 'jack of all trades'.
